What will I be learning?

If you are looking for a job now or want to get back to work once the current situation with Covid-19 changes, then our friendly Careers Team can offer you free advice and guidance to help you on your way.

This will be an initial interactive session using Zoom video conferencing.  Don't worry if you're not sure about using new technology, when you enrol on the course we will contact you and help you set up the links and send you some pre-course information to help you prepare.

There is also an option to attend this workshop in the classroom.

The course will help you:

  • Find out about different types of interviews
  • Explore how best to prepare for an interview
  • Anticipate what questions you may be asked and how to answer them
  • Examine how to demonstrate how your skills and experience make you the best candidate
  • Examine the importance of body language and how you communicate in an interview
  • Reflect on your previous experience of interviews

How will I know how I am progressing during the course?

At DALS, we use an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set and review targets and provide feedback, enabling continual reflection and evaluation throughout the course. Learners will also receive verbal and/or written feedback on marked work.  Learners will use their ILP to help track and monitor their own progress towards set goals, to support personal development and achievement.

There is no formal exam, although there is continual evaluation throughout the course.

Can I have help in the class?

At enrolment, it is important that you tell us if you have a learning difficulty or disability and require support. Learners declaring a support need will be referred for an assessment. If an enhanced support need is confirmed, a Support Package will be offered, to assist your progress in your learning and development, specific to your assessed needs.
