Computers - Intro to Microsoft Word

What will I be learning?

This is an online word processing course. It is an introduction to Microsoft word processing, you will learn how to create a document, format text and edit a document. You will learn how to save your document to a folder and print it. You will learn how to spell check your documents for errors. You will learn how to insert a picture into your document and format it.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Spell check
  • Insert clip art
  • Format clip art
  • Save document
  • Print document

Does the course lead to a qualification?

No, it doesn’t lead to a qualification but you will have informal assessments to monitor your progress.

  •  Beginners to using word processing

What do I need to bring?

 You will need access to a device with Microsoft Word, Internet access, speakers.  The course will use Zoom to connect you with your tutor so access to a device with a webcam or video capable Smartphone is preferred.

 There are no additional costs

How will I know how I am progressing during the course?

Feedback will be given, both verbally and by the evaluation of completed tasks & projects.  You will receive verbal feedback on the results of your practical exercises.

There is no formal exam, although there is continual evaluation throughout the course.
