What are the entry requirements
You should be working towards Entry level 2 or Entry level 3 ESOL and not already have a level 2 maths qualification. What will I be learning
This course will help you learn the language used in maths. Maths questions often use English words, not just numbers. You will solve maths problems and learn how to understand what questions are asking you to do.You will improve maths skills like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. You will also learn about fractions, decimals, and percentages. We will practice using maths in real life, like shopping and planning a budget. This course will help you feel more confident using maths every day.
How will I be assessed and supported
At DALS, we use an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set and review targets and provide feedback, enabling continual reflection and evaluation throughout the course. Learners will also receive verbal and written feedback on marked work. Learners will use their ILP to help track and monitor their own progress towards set goals, to support personal development and achievement. At enrolment, it is important that you tell us if you have a
learning difficulty or disability and require support. Learners declaring a
support need will be referred for an assessment. If an enhanced support need is
confirmed, a Support Package will be offered, to assist your progress in your
learning and development, specific to your assessed
needs.
