Who is this course for

The course is perfect for beginners if you want to study anywhere, anytime.

As this is course leads to a level 2 qualification, it requires your commitment of a few hours per week learning and completing the assessment questions.  Depending on the amount of units/assessment questions, it should take on average 3 to 4 months to complete.  However, it may take less time, depending on how quickly you complete the assessments.

You will be developing knowledge and understanding around the prevention and control of infection.

What are the entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, but you should have a minimum of level one in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

What will I be learning

The course aims to provide learners with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of the prevention and control of infections including legislation, policies, systems and procedures relating to prevention and control of infections.
Also covered are the importance of risk assessment and using Personal Protective Equipment PPE the causes and transmission of infection, waste management practice and decontamination.
This is a nationally recognised, level 2 qualification that provides the knowledge and skills required by employers to work in a range of different environments.



How will I be assessed and supported

During the course you will access online materials to support your learning and will work through online assessments as you progress.  You will be supported by your tutor.

What do I need to bring?

This is an online course you will need access to a computer, laptop and the internet to be able to complete the course.

This qualification is run on a platform via the internet using the online EQUAL learning platform.
