Who is this course for

This course is intended to give you an introduction to working in business and administration, reviewing the underpinning knowledge, and giving an introduction to the skills required to allow you to gain confidence in working in roles in business.

This will support progression into employment and to qualifications in this area.

What are the entry requirements

There are no prior skills, knowledge or understanding requirements for these qualifications.
Please note:
You must attend all classes and arrive to classes on time; failure to do this may result in non-achievement.

What will I be learning

You will learn about the key principles of business administration and how these are applied within the workplace, including the following areas:
Understanding employer organisations
Communication skills for work
Working in Business and administration
Managing self and own performance and development
Using IT and numbers in business.

How will I be assessed and supported

During the course you will develop an individual learning journal to include your key learning points and reflection on new learning.
At DALS, we use an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set and review targets and provide feedback, enabling continual reflection and evaluation throughout the course. Learners will also receive verbal and/or written feedback on marked work. Learners will use their ILP to help track and monitor their own progress towards set goals, to support personal development and achievement.
At enrolment, it is important that you tell us if you have a learning difficulty or disability and require support. Learners declaring a support need will be referred for an assessment. If an enhanced support need is confirmed, a Support Package will be offered, to assist your progress in your learning and development, specific to your assessed needs.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a folder for storing any paper handouts, notepad, pen, and proof of identification.

Any additional costs?

A registration and certification fee will apply, this is set by the awarding body and is therefore subject to change.
