Who is this course for
The course is perfect for beginners if you want to study anywhere, anytime. As this is course leads to a level 2 qualification, it requires your commitment of a few hours per week learning and completing the assessment questions. Depending on the amount of units/assessment questions, it should take on average 3 to 4 months to complete. However, it may take less time, depending on how quickly you complete the assessments. It is ideal for those in a workplace setting that have safeguarding responsibilities including HR professionals, Religious leaders, Safeguarding leads, Community leaders, Line managers, Prison officers, School support staff, Play workers, Counsellors, Social workers, Mental health first aid workers, Social care workers and Support workers.What are the entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, but you should have a minimum of level one in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.What will I be learning
The course aims to provide you with the opportunity to
develop knowledge and understanding of the signs that an individual may be
self-harming or having suicidal thoughts. You will also develop an
awareness of the subject and how to encourage open conversations that could
prevent individuals from self-harming or from having suicidal thoughts.

Support for individuals when dealing with grief after
suicide.
This is a nationally recognised, level 2 qualification
that provides the knowledge and skills required by employers to work in a range
of different environments.

During the course you will access online materials to support your learning and will work through online assessments as you progress. You will be supported by your tutor.What do I need to bring?
This is an online course you will need access to a computer, laptop and the internet to be able to complete the course.

using the online EQUAL learning platform.
