Who is this course for

The course is perfect for those already working in the care sector who may have responsibilities for caring for patients nearing the end of their life. It is a flexible course, where you can study anywhere, anytime.

As this is course leads to a level 2 qualification, it requires your commitment of a few hours per week learning and completing the assessment questions.  Depending on the amount of units/assessment questions, it should take on average 3 to 4 months to complete.  However, it may take less time, depending on how quickly you complete the assessments.

What are the entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however you should have a minimum of level one in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

What will I be learning

The qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding to support you in your role, working with those who may be caring for those nearing the end of their life.
You will complete the following mandatory units:
Understand how to work in end of life care
Understand how to provide support to
manage pain and discomfort
End of life care and dementia
Understanding the role of the care
worker at time of death
Understand loss and grief in end of life Care
Principles of care planning in end of life care

How will I be assessed and supported

During the course you will access online materials to support your learning and will work through online assessments as you progress.  You will be supported by your tutor.

What do I need to bring?

This is an online course you will need access to a computer, laptop and the internet to be able to complete the course.

This qualification is run on a platform via the internet using the online EQUAL learning platform.
