Who is this course for

This Award course helps you develop the digital skills employers value most; using Microsoft Word and Excel effectively. Whether you're preparing for the workplace, advancing in your career, or returning to education, this qualification gives you practical, hands-on experience to boost your confidence and productivity.

The Certificate course is for returning learners who have already completed the Award and builds on prior learning to learn Microsoft PowerPoint, Access databases and then complete a short Employability unit.

What are the entry requirements

You should have a good level of digital skills such as those covered in EDSQ Level 1 and a reasonable level of reading, writing, and maths.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but an initial assessment will be completed prior to enrolling onto this course to check prior knowledge and ensure you join the correct level course for you.

What will I be learning

For the Award, you will complete two focused units:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel

For the Certificate you will complete three focused units:
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Access
Employability unit

How will I be assessed and supported

The qualification is assessed via coursework throughout the course. These are practical task-based questions using digital skills in real-life scenarios.
You will receive support from your tutor throughout the course.
You will also complete an Individual Learning Plan to support your progress.
