Course Information

What will I be learning?

We have teamed up with the AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group to offer a free e-learning course covering a range of topics relating to Employability.  The course will help you build up your confidence and self-esteem to enter employment.  This self-paced, on-line programme allows you to learn at your own pace with the support of a tutor. Choose from a range of modules to make up a qualification relevant to Employability. For example, some of the modules include:

  • Understanding How to be Successful
  • Health & Safety in the Workplace
  • Job Seeking Skills
  • Equality & Diversity at Work
  • Employment Skills
  • Employment Rights, Contracts & Pay
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Understanding Pensions

Give yourself a competitive advantage in looking for work. This programme can give you a confidence boost, relevant skills and knowledge, as well as the expert knowledge of a tutor to enable you to progress.

As part of the course there are weekly support sessions available on zoom.  Attending the first session is mandatory as you will be shown how to access the course and other course information will be explained to you. After that your attendance is optional, but that support is available should you require it.

Does the course lead to a qualification?

AIM Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills

Who is the course for?

Anyone who wants help in preparing for work either now or in the future.

What do I need to bring?

You need access to the internet and a pen and paper would be useful

Are there any additional costs?

No

How will I know how I am progressing during the course?

At DALS, we use an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set and review targets and provide feedback, enabling continual reflection and evaluation throughout the course. Learners will also receive verbal and/or written feedback on marked work. Learners will use their ILP to help track and monitor their own progress towards set goals, to support personal development and achievement.

There is an exam at the end of each unit.

Can I have help in the class?

At enrolment, it is important that you tell us if you have a learning difficulty or disability and require support. Learners declaring a support need will be referred for an assessment. If an enhanced support need is confirmed, a Support Package will be offered, to assist your progress in your learning and development, specific to your assessed needs.
