Course Information

What will I be learning?

The Corona virus has changed our everyday lives - we need to stay positive through these difficult times, keep busy, look around us and engage with our creativity. We have designed a 3 module course for you to work at home. You don't need any specialist materials; part of the satisfaction of creating your own personal journal is looking around you and using what is there creatively.

The first module starts with your first drink of the day - What was it? What drink it from? a glass, a mug perhaps - what colour was this vessel?

If you painted your drink onto paper, what colour would it be? Each module will give you ideas to experiment with to create pages for your own journal, we will also send you links to websites and videos to give you more inspiration.

With each module you will receive a feedback sheet to return to us with some photographs of your favourite pages.

Your tutor will be available via email to ask questions, discuss and share ideas.

How will I know how I am progressing during the course?

Feedback will be given, both verbally and by the evaluation of completed tasks & projects.  You will receive verbal feedback on the results of your practical exercises.

There is no formal exam, although there is continual evaluation throughout the course.

Towards the end of each session you will use a DerbyLearn forum to record what you have done in class and comment on how you think you got on.  Before the next session your tutor will reply with their feedback.  This is a very good method of recording your own progress, reflecting on the session and a great way to receive motivation from your tutor.

How is this course supported by DerbyLearn?
